Nephrite was the second Shitennō to collect energy for Queen Beryl to feed to Queen Metaria so they could take over the Universe. He was very arrogant and hated when anyone questioned his motives. Nephrite relied on the stars for his power and would use this technique to choose his victims. He used a different way of collection energy from humans, who would collect energy from many humans at once, Nephrite would choose one human. From this one human he was able to drain even more energy than Jadeite could from a dozen. When on Earth, Nephrite disguised himself as the totally irresistible, Masato Sanjōin; a millionaire. Naru Ōsaka fell in love with him and he used this emotion to help him complete his goals. He soon realized what love was about and actually started caring for Naru. Because of this, he was labeled a traitor and Zoisite used her Yōma to kill him.
