Makaiju originated from a planet outside of our solar system a very long time ago. Makaiju has the ability to support life and is able to absorb energy from other life forms, and transfer it to her children. Makaiju "gave birth" to the species of Al & En; supporting them by converting the energy of love into energy droplet form. Makaiju is an intelligent alien tree species that is able to plan and set traps. Makaiju also carries the ability of speech and is able transfer the minds of others into its own consciousness. Once upon a time, on a far away planet there was nothing but the ocean and Makaiju. After spending eons in solitude, she gave birth to her own race of humanoid (Al & En species) so that she would have someone to talk to. They lived happily together and she loved them all, but gradually her children became smarter and began to fight for her energy. Any respect was lost, and they became ruled by their own anger and hatred. Even though Makaiju believed that one day things would return to happiness, the fighting just escalated and in the end they destroyed their planet. They spent forever travelling through space, from star system looking for a planet to settle on, but none could be found that had what they needed. Soon, the remaining survivors died leaving only Al & En; believing love was only something that must be taken by force. Once arriving on the planet Earth, Makaiju began to dry out her body in hopes that Al & En would begin to understand the true meaning of love, but in doing so Al & En would feed it more human energy and it was left stable but unable to talk. When the Moonlight Knight was absorbed by the Makaiju, it was given enough strength to begin to talk. Al & En finally understood what love was, and as a last request, Makaiju asked Sailor Moon to purify it with her Power of Love. Sailor Moon used her "Moon Princess Halation" attack and cleansed the tree, returning it to a sprout state. With Al & En finally understanding love, they left Earth with the Makaiju in hopes of finding a new planet to live on and raise their tree with energy of love.
